What is WFPB?

Though I am not a fan of strict labels... if I had to categorize the way I eat, it is WFPB.

But what does WFPB even mean?

To answer in the most simple terms, it stands for Whole Food Plant Based.

What does Whole Food Plant Based mean?

Basically, it's a way of eating that focuses on increasing the amount & variety of whole, plant foods... while also decreasing and/or eliminating the amount of animal based & highly processed foods that you are eating.

Its common to know that fruits and vegetables are good for you.

But most people, including myself for a long time, have no idea how good the good stuff is or how harmful some of the other stuff is.

Whole food plant based eating is the most health promoting, disease fighting, nutrient dense, & sustainable way of eating possible!

WFPB food can include everything from pizza to pancakes, smoothies to salads, chili to mac & chez, burgers to burritos, cupcakes to cheesecakes, BLTs to BBQs, and so on.

The main types of whole, plant foods are:

Fruits, Vegetables, Whole grains, Beans, Nuts, Seeds, Herbs & Spices

That might not seem like a lot at first but, keep in mind, there are more than 20,000 edible plants on this planet!

That's probably way more than what you can think of off of the top of your head.

Building your meals from these food groups can give you an unlimited variety of health promoting, disease fighting, great tasting dishes that meet all of your nutritional & satisfactory needs!

To keep it straightforward, this is a brief list of what is & isn't whole food plant based.

There is so much more to be said about this way of eating and the way that I personally eat. That's why I created this website :)

I hope this helps!
