Are you in charge of bringing the veggie tray this year? Want to make your own Plant Based Charcuterie board but not sure what to put on it? I have some ideas for you!
Charcuterie boards are so fun to eat from and I always get excited when I see them, who doesn't?!
The word "charcuterie" actually translates to "pork butcher" in French but that's doesn't mean we can't make them plant based! Especially since processed meats are classified as a Class 1 carcinogen by the World Health Organization. (Same category as cigarettes)
Typical charcuterie boards have fruits, veggies, crackers, nuts, meats, cheeses & some dip(s). So when I make them, I just cut out the meat + cheese & double down on the rest!
This is a board I made😍
Here's what you're looking at:
Apple slices
Pear slices
Mini Bell Peppers cut in half
Celery chopped into sticks
Cotton Candy Grapes
Cherry tomatoes cut in half
Mandarin Orange Slices Strawberries
Kiwi Slices
Basil ripped into smaller leaves
Almonds
Pretzels
2 types of crackers
Garlic Hummus
My homemade cranberry date sauce
SO colorful, festive, & tasty!
Our favorite combination of the night was a hummus, tomato, and basil on a cracker. Tastes like bruchetta...yum!
Some other things I thought about adding but ran out of room for:
Pickles
Cucumber
Carrots
Pomegrante
Figs
Raspberries
Caramel dip
Peanut Butter dip
Here's another example:
Apple slices

Not pictured:

Oh and I got the wooden board /tray at Home Goods :)
I hope this helps!
