Oatmeal (Not Ya Grandma's)

Ingredients

__Whole grain quick oats, 1/2 cup

__Water, 3/4 cup

__Plant milk of your choice, 1/4 cup

__Peanut Butter, 1 heaping spoonful

__Maple syrup or Honey, 2-3 spoonfuls

__Chia seeds, light layer

__Ground flax seeds, light layer

__Banana, at least 1/2 sliced and/or mashed

__Dates, 2 chopped small

__Other fruit of your choice (pictured: blueberries & pomegrantes)

__Walnuts, 3 whole pieces, crushed


Optional Add-ins

__Cooked Quinoa, 2-4 spoonfuls

__Hemp seeds, 1 spoonful

__Pumpkin seeds, 1 spoonful

__Cinnamon, light layer

__Pumpkin spice, very light layer

__Vanilla powder, light layer

Measurement Key:

Spoonful = 1 teaspoon (tsp)

Light layer = 1/2 - 1 tablespoon (tbsp)

Medium layer = 1.5 - 2 tablespoons (tbsp)

Heavy layer = 3 - 4 tablespoons (tbsp)

How To

Microwave instructions:

Step 1

Combine oats and water in a bowl


Step 2

Microwave for 2 minutes


Step 3

Add peanut butter, maple syrup or honey, and banana


Step 4

Stir


Step 5

Add seeds and spices


Step 6

Stir. Taste check & Enjoy!




Stove Top instructions:

Step 1

Bring water to a boil in a small pot on medium heat


Step 2

Add oats and plant milk. Reduce heat but keep a low simmer. Stir & combine well. Let cook for about 4 mins, stir often.


Step 3

Reduce heat & add peanut butter, maple syrup or honey, seeds, spices, dates, & banana. Stir well.


Step 4

Remove from stove & pour into a bowl


Step 5

Add other fruit of choice & walnuts


Step 6

Taste check & Enjoy!
