Ingredients
Recipe inspired by Sam Turnbull of It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken
__Young green jackfruit (in water or brine -not in syrup!), 2 cans, sliced/chopped (the long way)
__Olive oil, 1 spoonful
__Onion, 1/2, chopped
__Garlic, 3, chopped small
__Vegetable broth or water, 1/4 cup
__BBQ sauce, 3/4 cup+

Measurement Key:
Spoonful = 1 teaspoon (tsp)
Light layer = 1/2 - 1 tablespoon (tbsp)
Medium layer = 1.5 - 2 tablespoons (tbsp)
Heavy layer = 3 - 4 tablespoons (tbsp)
How To
Step 1
Saute onions, garlic, and olive oil on meidum heat until soft
Step 2
Add jackfruit and use a fork to finish "shredding" it
Step 3
Add broth & cover for 10 mins or until all of the liquid has been absorbed. Stir often.
Step 4
Preheat oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit
Step 5
Remove from heat and let cool for 3-5 minutes
Step 6
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and spread jackfruit out on it
Step 7
Drizzle the BBQ sauce all over the jackfruit, lightly mix with a fork
Step 8
Roast the jackfruit in the oven for about 20 minutes or until ends lightly crisp
Step 9
Remove from oven, add a little more BBQ sauce on top, taste check & enjoy! In a sandwich, a wrap, a bowl, or however else you want to eat it!
