Homemade "Toaster Strudel"

Ingredients

__Puff Pastry Sheet, 1 sheet makes 3 strudels

__Apple, 1, chopped small or Strawberries, 5-7, chopped small

__Vanilla powder, light layer

__Sugar of your choice (I used brown sugar), 1 spoonful

__If using apples: Cinnamon, light-medium layer

__Powdered sugar, light sprinkle

Measurement Key:

Spoonful = 1 teaspoon (tsp)

Light layer = 1/2 - 1 tablespoon (tbsp)

Medium layer = 1.5 - 2 tablespoons (tbsp)

Heavy layer = 3 - 4 tablespoons (tbsp)

How To

Step 1

Remove Puff Pastry Sheets from Freezer to thaw


Step 2

Chop fruit of your choice & add to a small pot with a splash of water on medium low heat


Step 3

Add spices & sugar. Cover with lid. Let cook for about 10-15 minutes. Stir often


Step 4

Once fruit mixture fully combined into a sauce like texture, remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes


Step 5

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut Pastry Sheet to size of choice. (You will need 2 rectangles per strudel)


Step 6

Scoop out 2 spoonfuls of fruit mixture onto the middle of a rectangle . Cover with another rectangle.


Step 7

Use a fork to press the sides of the pastry together and seal shut.


Step 8

Place studel on a lightly greased or non stick sheet pan. 


Step 9

Bake in oven for about 15 minutes or until puffy & golden brown.


Step 10

Let cool before eating! (remember, the inside will be super hot)
